CA finish on pens

On the CA glue bottle it claims to bond wood and metal.  How do you prevent the wood pen body from bonding to the metal bushings?  In YouTube videos demonstrators don't seem concerned about gluing the bushing to the pen.  What is the trick?

    Thanks, RB

Randy, I'm sure there are many approaches to this and others may chime in with theirs.  Sometimes the glue does bond the blank to the bushings, but it usually can be snapped off without ill effect.  I know that some turners also use bushings made of UMHW, HDPE or other plastics when they apply a CA finish.  The CA won't bond to these bushings.  There are commercially available bushings for this purpose or you can turn them yourself.  The size is not critical, so long as the cone shape fits well enough into the tube to allow the lather to drive the blank.  Peter

Thanks.  Using cone centers.  That seems to work.
