Woodturning Classes

Classes

Many of our advanced or professional members teach woodturning classes, from introductory to advanced and special projects, through Mt.Diablo Adult Education's Lifelong Ed Program. The Diablo Woodturning Center is located in the James Rodgers Woodturning Studio (Rm 108) on their campus in Pleasant Hill. BAWA holds its monthly meetings in that same studio.

Friday Morning Independent Projects Open Shop

In addition to the formal classes, students who have completed Woodturning 101 Introduction to Woodturning can attend Open Shop on Friday mornings & afternoons by registering to attend on the MDAE Lifelong Education website. Alternatively registration can be done at the MDAE Office, Pleasant Hill location, in person on that day on a space available basis. The vast selection of tools and accessories will allow you to undertake most project opportunities. This is ideal if you are looking for help on a project, if you don't own a lathe yet, or you are simply looking to spend some time working with fellow woodturners, including highly experienced coaches!
